Larsen-backed Yellow token draws criticism from XRP Ledger buyers

Yellow, a project that received $10 million from Ripple co-founder Chris Larsen, listed its token on both Ethereum and the XRP Ledger. With no bridge between the two, the price on the XRP Ledger ran higher, and a wallet linked to the team sold about 20,000 XRP worth of tokens there. A project representative called it team arbitrage, and the project has made no official statement.

A token listed on two chains without a bridge can trade at very different prices, and early buyers on the dearer chain carry the risk.

US spot XRP funds sit on an estimated $440 million paper loss

The five US spot XRP funds have taken in about $1.81 billion since launch and held about $1.46 billion in assets after trading on 3 November. Coinpaper estimates the average buying price at about $1.72 per XRP, against a close near $1.28. The estimated paper loss fell from about $489 million on 31 October.

Fund buyers are under water on average, which can weigh on new money coming into XRP funds.

Garlinghouse says RLUSD competes with other stablecoins, not XRP

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse wrote on X on 3 November that RLUSD competes with other stablecoins and not with XRP. He answered questions from XRP holders about whether the growth of Ripple's dollar stablecoin takes demand away from XRP. An October count found XRP used as the bridge asset in 11,009 trades on the XRP Ledger exchange.

Ripple is saying that it plans to grow both RLUSD and XRP, rather than trade one for the other.
