Ripple's monthly escrow release of 1 billion XRP falls due today
Ripple's escrow schedule releases 1 billion XRP on 1 November, but the coins move only when Ripple submits the transaction that finishes each escrow. The 1 billion XRP released on 1 October was still in two Ripple wallets with 500 million XRP each on 29 October, with no outgoing payments. Over the past twelve months Ripple locked about 70% of each monthly release back into escrow.
Most released XRP has gone back into escrow, so the monthly release does not mean 1 billion new coins reach the market.
