Cardano proposal would add quantum-resistant signature checks to Plutus
CIP-0206 proposes that Plutus smart contracts can verify ML-DSA and SLH-DSA signatures, two schemes designed to resist quantum computers. Adding the functions would need a hard fork of the network. A separate draft standard for regulated stablecoins built on CIP-0113 is also under discussion, and neither proposal is active yet.
If adopted, smart contracts on Cardano could check signatures that stay safe against future quantum attacks.
